What’s the best gift for an 80th Birthday?

You get on a plane, meet up with another friend and drive to the birthday girl’s hometown. Check into a hotel in Santa Rosa, CA. Get adjoining rooms and…

HAVE A PAJAMA PARTY!

No feety jammies, but instead…be the glamour gals. Eat, chatter, laugh, and celebrate being alive. Nothing beats this gift.

That’s what I did, and that’s where I’ve been. They may call it Old Girls Gone Wild but we are grateful for the opportunity. How incredible, to have a friend to share this lifetime with. I was 5 years old, she was 13 years old, when she walked me to kindergarten. And all along this life journey, she’s held my hand and walked me through the scarry places. Even today, when I hit a bump, she’s there to pick me up, dust me off, and light up the path as I walk through another moment.

So there you have it. An idea of how to celebrate the 80th with someone you really love. I’m not sure who was the receiver of the present. Was it the birthday girl or was it me? I guess we each got a gift on this special occasion.

And by the way…She’s also my first cousin. I think I got the better gift.

The Church of One Tree

If you are visiting Santa Rosa CA., there is much to do, much to see and many wonderful restaurants to enjoy. But here’s a little tourist attraction that you may include in your next visit. The Church of One Tree was built from just one redwood tree in 1873. Read about the church here, and read about Santa Rosa here. It’s a fun place to visit. And don’t miss the Luther Burbank Gardens

Evelyn & Trinkie: As I reflect, there is nothing better than really, really good and loyal friends. You guys are that. Thank you.

WEll, i won’t be left out. It was a fabulous time and a gift for all of us. Not related to either, but both my wonderful good friends. And, yes, Evelyn has been my rock for many many years as well. What a clear perspective she has on the world and how we function within it. Two calls a week minimum for many moons keep me cooking! We laughed, talked, ate, ate chocolate, ate, walked, talked, ate……lolled in our jammies….were almost sloths for two days. The reunion is now on the calendar for next year. love, Trinkie

You did not get the better, I did, but let’s not argue it. Love flows and everyone who is open can receive. Our receiving has always been mutual.
Hugs to the hugging artist.
Evelyn
