Angela

Painting realism with Painter is really a very simple process. One of the way to capture realism is to start with cloning your reference and then painting over than clone. As you know, cloning will give you an exact duplicate of your reference. I am classically trained in drawing and painting, so drawing from my reference is another method that I use. It is no different than drawing or painting from any reference.

I hope this give you some of the information you were looking for. Thanks for viewing my artwork.

Hi Jackie! Wow. I am working on a project where I wanted to paint realistic roses. I saw an incredible painting in Corel Painter magazine issue 28 - tutorial "creative still life" but there wasn't enough information for me so I bought a couple of books on painting flowers traditionally but I still needed to get more help and I've been searching the web. The best help I got from your page was your blocking in of color. I don't know how you got such an exact copy of your reference. Wow, again. Anyway, thank you so much for sharing your expertise.
